Does Metamorfon verify the factual accuracy of the information generated by the models?

Not in the sense of general-purpose fact-checking — but Metamorfon no longer stops at confronting models. Its primary function remains the orchestration of argumentative confrontation between models: revealing their assumptions, their epistemic styles, and their blind spots. To this is now added a Source Verification mode, which performs targeted auditing of verifiable claims and source attributions produced throughout an exchange.

In practice, this mode identifies claims that can be traced back to a named author or an explicit figure (percentage, ratio, dated citation), then uses a web search to assess whether the invoked source exists and actually supports what is attributed to it. It does not judge the “truth” of an idea: it checks who says what, and on what basis.

This mode has acknowledged limitations worth keeping in mind:

  • A restricted scope. Only explicitly attributed claims (named author or explicit figure) are audited. Interpretive statements, unsourced generalities, or links cited without a clear reference fall outside its scope.
  • A dependency on web search. If the model being used has not actually performed a web search, no verdict can be considered reliable — the mode signals this explicitly and prompts retrying with another model.
  • A degree of variability. On the same claim, the verdict may differ from one analysis to the next. This is an indication, not a definitive ruling.

Inter-model friction often reveals asymmetries in factual reliability, but the user remains the final arbiter — this is precisely what the Metamorfon system presupposes and values. Source Verification mode is an aid to examination, not a final truth: it highlights points worth corroborating, without substituting for the human work of verification and cross-checking. For sessions with a high factual content, approaching verification from multiple angles remains more robust than relying on a single source — the same logic of epistemic plurality that drives Metamorfon between models applies to verification itself.

Sessions can also be exported to Markdown and DocX, making them easier to review, annotate, and corroborate further.
